Certainly Sequins!

With the holidays just around the corner, we are going to start seeing sequins in our favorite stores. Although some of you might fear the flashy, don’t be scared to embrace this trend. Adding a little bit (or a lot!) of sparkle to your outfit can make it seem more festive or maybe add just a little flare to the ordinary. As you probably know by now, I encourage those of you who do not feel comfortable with new trends to try them in small doses. If you are not familiar with sequins, start with a little bit of sparkle in your outfit, and then add some pieces that are a little bolder. My suggestion for those trying to get started in this trend:
With just a hint of sparkle, this look allows you to show off your girly side :) Another area to embrace this trend is on your nails! Lately, everywhere I look, girls have been painting their nails one color and isolating one of them with another. Try adding glitter! The next step is to try glitter on all your nails. Don't feel like you have to stick to a silver or gold. Go green!

Once you feel comfortable with your sparkle, it is time to move on to sequins. I’ve been seeing this trend everywhere, from dresses to accessories to shoes and I love it. The best part is that you can find pieces in almost any color you want. If you are lucky enough to find a pattern or print in sequins, take advantage of it. A piece like this in your wardrobe can dress up a nice pair of jeans for any occasion.

Don’t forget the accessories they have out there! I have seen cute headbands and shoes, but the purses are my favorite. There is always something you can add to your outfit for a little bit of flair. Just be careful not to try to use too much sequins or sparkle in one outfit (you might turn out looking like a walking disco ball). All things are good in moderation- enjoy sequins!

Make Me Up!!!!

Fashion is so much more then what most people think. Sometimes the only thing missing from the perfect outfit is the perfect shade of lipstick. So the next time you feel like your outfit just isn’t right, here are some great makeup ideas to add the finishing touches to your favorite looks.
Here is how you do a great smoky eye.
For fall add a metallic color to really make your eyes pop!!!!

With the smoky eye makeup you don’t want to overdo it with the lipstick. Pick a soft color.

BUT, when you are ready for your lips to say Hi before you do, go RED.

With so many shades to choice from, try them out and see which one you fall in love with.

My favorite fall trend of all is the dramatic lashes, the bigger the better. Real or fake you can’t go wrong.

MAXImum Coverage

Maxi dresses and skirts are a perfect transition piece from Summer to Fall. They are easy to wear and extremely comfortable. They are perfectly breezy for Summer, and offer enough coverage for warmth as we move into Fall. With the various different styles, colors and patterns offered, it isn't hard to find a maxi dress or skirt to please you. There are bright colors that you can pair with cardigans in muted tones, or printed dresses that you could pair with a cute pair of heels and an oversized knitted sweater.

Now that it's getting colder, these long skirts can be paired with t-shirts and long sleeves. You can throw a denim jacket over a maxi dress, or a leather jacket over a cute top and maxi skirt. If you want a more "chill" look, a chunky sweater over a maxi dress is still fashionable, yet extremely comfortable. You can accessorize with long necklaces and if it's a bit chilly outside, cute scarves and knitted circle scarves. To keep yourself even warmer, you can pair your maxi skirt or dress with a pair of boots, or flats.
When wearing a maxi skirt or dress, you have to make sure to keep the proportions right so that your body looks lengthened rather than cut off. Generally, the most flattering proportions is keeping the top of the skirt more toward your natural waist. When it comes to dresses, the most flattering is an empire waist. Whether you're petite, or tall, you can try a maxi skirt or dress and have fun with accessorizing and trying different looks!

Commit to Knits!

The rain has finally hit socal and I am more than excited to pull all my sweaters out of hiding! There is nothing better than an awesome cup of coffee and a chunky sweater to help me relax on a cold day. So cozy up next to your computer and I'll show you a few of my favorite ways to wear sweaters are going to be this fall.

With so many sweater options out this fall at your favorite stores, fashionistas might run into problems. This look can be tricky to get right, because if you don't find the right sweater for your body shape, it could make you look bigger and chunkier than you actually are. And no girl wants that. We have all had those days where we walk out the door thinking we look like we belong in a magazine ------>
when really, we just look sloppy. So, I am going to explain how to wear this look right.

The trick is to find the right size and the right amount of volume in your sweater. If you are curvy, you have to make sure that the sweater you chose is not too thick - chose a sweater with a thinner material, but a super cute texture.
You can pair these with a skirt, shorts, leggings, or jeans. Accessorize with a cute pair of heals or some fabulous boots. Dress it up or down and get creative.
For the girls that are looking for the chunky sweater, I suggest going with a basic color. With the thicker fabric, I would suggest accenting your outfit with dark and vibrant color, like maroon (my favorite color for this fall).

Ladies! Do not be afraid to use these sweaters with different styles. Wear it as a dress, as a second layer, or as a shirt. On days when it is hot outside, pair it with shorts or a skirt and maybe even a cute pair of tights. One of the cutest sweater/shorts combos I have seen lately is a pink pair of shorts with a knit sweater.

Sweaters even look good on the beach!
No matter what your weather is like, you can always find a look for sweaters. Some days you just want to feel comfortable. Work on mix matching colors and if you buy a sweater that has a bold color in it, grab your color wheel to find a color scheme for your outfit. Just because you are comfortable, does not mean you can't look well put together.
(complementary color scheme)

Best of luck with your sweater hunting! I know you will all look....
